ELECTIVE DETAILS

Session #1 (9:00am)

Brain Based Learning

Discover how the brain receives information and commits it to memory. Learn how to teach/lead so that young people remember it!

Trainer: Pastor Tim Jarick | Ipswich Lutheran Parish Pastor

Tim has successfully incorporated a brain-based approach to learning into the youth & children's ministry at Ipswich

Childsafe Team Member & Safeplace Training

Participants will be trained in the Childsafe and Safeplace policies of the LCAQD - a requirement for all volunteer ministry leaders (This elective goes for four hours ie. from 9am - 1pm)

Childsafe Team Leader Training

Participants will be trained in the Childsafe system to the team leader level. This is the required training for coordinators of ministry and other senior volunteer leaders (This elective goes for four hours ie. from 9am - 1pm)

Activity Toolbox

Learn and experience some easy ice breakers and games that always work with kids!

Trainer: Emma Graetz | LYQ Ministry and Program Coordinator

Session #3 (11:40am)

Small Group Leadership

Discover how to get the most out of any group. Simple techniques that will help your small groups to work better and grow deeper together.

Session #4 (1:40pm)

Ministering to Kids with learning & behaviour challenges

Learn how to involve children with learning and behavioural challenges into your children's and/or youth ministry.

Margit has extensive experience in working and engaging with children and teenagers who have special needs.

Leadership 101

Learn the basics of ministry leadership. Discover what a leader is, how to influence others and work in team (This elective goes for 2hrs & 10mins ie. 1:40pm-4pm).

Winning with Boys

Discover the secret to engaging boys in a Sunday School (primary aged) ministry.

Ronwyn has extensive experience engaging boys & is also a Pastor at the Mt Cotton Community Fellowship.

P-Plate Evangelism

Learn four words beginning with P that will change the way you look at and do evangelism. This is a model that is practical, personal, polite and possible!

Bible Storytelling that excites kids

Learn the secrets to 'Echo storytelling' an effective way to engage children and connect them with the key message.

Kerry is an experienced ministry leader who understands the practical needs of leading Sunday School every week.

Mental Health First Aid

Learn how to recognise and provide immediate care to children with mental health struggles (ie. depression, anxiety etc) and how to connect them with appropriate on-going professional support.
