The heart of who we are!
We're blessed to support, and partner in ministry with, hundreds of young adults (18-30) every year. In fact our ministry was started by and continues to be shaped by young adults who are committed to sharing the love of Jesus with others.
Today our ministry to young adults, particularly university students, is relationship focussed and seeks to give young adults the opportunity to grow and serve in the love of Christ.
Our dedicated Young Adult Ministry Coordinator provides individual support and pastoral care to Lutheran young adults throughout South-east Queensland including support for university students who are moving to Brisbane for study. If you know a young adult who needs our support please encourage them to click on the button below and complete a quick online contact form - we'd love to help!
We also produce a 'Moving out of Home guide' which is made freely available to year 12 students in Lutheran schools and churches. Contact us on 07 3511 4080 to find out more.
Every February we host an annual young adult retreat called The Gathering which is designed to inspire and encourage the faith of young adults. The Gathering is also a great chance for young adults to connect with others and prepare for the year ahead. We also facilitate regular Cluster nights that are designed to challenge and encourage young adults to develop a deep-rooted faith through community and conversation.
The largest component of our young adult ministry is the local mission opportunity of leading on one of our holiday camp programs. More than 95% of our holiday camp leaders are university students who generously give their time and resources to share the Good News about Jesus with teenagers and children on camp. Holiday Camp leadership is a great way for young adults to grow in their faith and serve in a practical and powerful way.
