Inspired to Serve

We were thrilled to partner with the Anglican Church Southern Queensland to equip and inspire over 220 ministry leaders at Elevation Training on Saturday 18 March!

Elevation is an annual training event that provides practical training and resourcing to child, youth and family ministry leaders who serve in churches, schools and camps. Elevation began in 2009 with only 60 participants and has steadily grown to become one of the largest training events of its kind in Queensland. Our partnership with the Anglican Church Southern Queensland which commenced in 2015 has increased the richness of the training experience.

This year we were blessed to begin the day with an inspiring opening session from Dan Warlow, a talented Christian Kids Ministry artist. Dan used his musical talents to lead us in a time of worship and encouragement that energised participants for the learning ahead. Participants then spent the rest of the day attending a selection of practical ministry workshops designed to equip and encourage them in their ministry to children, youth and families. The wide selection of topics ensured that everyone went home with a new idea, resource or skill that they could use straight away. A big thank you to our presenters for delivering such inspiring and meaningful topics.

A huge thank you also goes to Good News Lutheran School and Good News Lutheran Church for allowing us to use their beautiful air-conditioned venue – a welcome relief on a muggy day.

It is also important to acknowledge our generous sponsors LLL, Grow Ministries, The Nazarene Bargain Shop, The Riverview & District Support Centre and the Ipswich Lutheran Bargain Centre who helped provide free spots for people travelling long distances to attend. We were blessed to host participants from all around the state. Thank you to those that travelled from Hervey Bay, Roma, the Sunshine Coast and many other places to attend – we loved being able to help equip you with skills to support your local community!

We’re excited to see what God will do through those who were equipped at Elevation 2017 and we can’t wait to see everyone again at Elevation Training next year!
