Meet your Camp Directors:

Nathaniel Fuller

Hi! I’m Nathaniel, and I’m one of the directors for camp this year!
I work as a leading hand in civil construction, but one of my biggest joys outside of work is being part of these camps. I’ve been coming to LYQ camps since I was a camp kid back in 2010, and they had such a massive impact on me growing up. Now, getting to be part of the team that plans them is something I’m genuinely excited and grateful for. I believe camp creates a space where young people can experience an awesome, fun, and safe community, one they can look forward to every year.
I’m currently living in south Brisbane and worship with my church community in Ipswich.
When I’m not on-site or planning camp, you’ll most likely find me hanging with friends, grabbing a pub feed, watching a good movie or camping when I get the time haha.
I’m so keen for this year’s camp and can’t wait to help make it an unforgettable experience for everyone who comes along!

Minty Brengman-Harvey

Hello hello! I’m Minty, and I am one of the three directors on camp this year! I’m so excited to be back on a summer camp for another year!
I am a high school teacher in the Logan area, primarily teaching Senior Biology and Science. Being able to create an environment outside of school where young people can grow within themselves and have fun is something I look forward to doing every year. As I have been a part of LYQ camps since 2016, I have seen first hand how much of an impact these camps can have, and I’m excited to continue being a part of these camps!
I currently reside in the south Brisbane area, and my church community is in Rochedale.
Outside of work, you’ll often find me crocheting some project while watching a true crime series or hanging with friends at a variety of social events.
I can’t wait for camp this year and to see you all there!

  • Please note that this discount cannot be applied retrospectively once the booking has been confirmed.

In 2018 we were blessed to receive a generous bequest from Mark Grieshaber. Mark (Greezy) Grieshaber was an active part of the Lutheran Youth of Queensland community for over three decades until his death in late 2017. Mark involvement started as a participant at our events but mostly he was involved as a volunteer leader for our holiday camps, particularly serving as our camp bus driver. Mark’s passion to support young people meant he often attended multiple events every year and although Mark’s involvement goes beyond our archived records we know he attended more than 130 different events! Those of us who were blessed to serve alongside Mark will remember his selfless leadership and care for others, and his passionate worship singing!

In consultation with Mark’s family we’re thrilled to be able to use Mark’s generous legacy to offer a $60 sibling discount for our holiday camps. Mark had a deep passion for youth ministry and dedicated many voluntary hours to leading on camp and transporting campers to, from and during camp. It is therefore fitting that we use his generous gift to offer a sibling discount that effectively gives families with multiple campers free bus transport to and from camp.

You can add multiple bookings for multiple camps within a season (e.g. winter, spring or summer holiday camps) to your cart. If you have multiple people you are booking from your family, please ensure to add all the bookings to your cart before going to the check out and processing your payment. This ensures appropriate discounts can be applied (e.g. family discount). To add another booking to your cart, select the button on the bottom right of the screen ‘Add Another Booking’.

LYQ have ceased the payment plan option going forward.

To keep our registration process simple and fair for everyone, LYQ has transitioned away from payment plans and now requires full payment upfront. You can choose to pay by credit or debit card using Stripe, or to request an invoice at Checkout.

We keep our leader-to-camper ratios low so our holiday camps focus on real relationships rather than basic supervision.

Volunteer with us...

We have an amazing bunch of leaders who volunteer their time to make sure that every camp is a bundle of fun and a great experience. All of our leaders complete an extensive application and training process prior to being selected.

To all of the amazing, kind, funny, and super talented leaders THANK YOU! Camp would not be what it is without you. The level of enthusiasm and care you all bring to camp, and the impact you have on the campers, cannot be under stated.
