Begin. Grow. Flourish

Where young leaders begin their journey

Mini Momentum is more than a camp it is a starting point for leadership growth.

Designed especially for Year 6 or 5 Student Leaders, this three-day experience creates space for young people to step into leadership for the first time in a way that is safe, exciting, and deeply formative.

At this stage of life, leadership is not about having all the answers.
It’s about discovering who you are and beginning to grow with confidence.

Mini-Momentum helps students:

  • Begin to understand themselves, their strengths, values and unique voice
  • Grow in confidence as they step into new challenges
  • Flourish in friendships and teamwork
  • Learn that leadership is about kindness, courage and influence, not titles

This is where leadership seeds are planted and given space to take ground and flourish.

School Enquiries open 20 May - 26 June 2026

Leadership starts from within

Who you are matters. Kindness, honesty and courage shape how you lead.

Leadership is about others

Great leaders care for and support the people around them.

You can grow into leadership

Leadership isn’t something you either have or don’t, it’s something you develop over time.

You are invited

Every student has a place. Every voice matters.

We are with You

No one leads alone. Students are supported every step of the way.

A community that grows together

We partner with schools across Queensland to create environments where young leaders don’t grow alone but flourish within community.

A safe place to grow and flourish

We are committed to creating a space where every young person feels safe, valued, and able to grow. Lutheran Youth of Queensland uphold the highest standards of child safety, ensuring every participant can step fully into the experience with confidence and trust.

What students experience

Each day is designed to gently stretch students while helping them feel safe, included, and capable.

Day 1 – Stepping In

Arrive, connect and begin building friendships. Students are welcomed into a space where they feel seen, valued and ready to begin.

Day 2 – Growing Forward

Through fun activities, reflection and leadership sessions, students start to:

  • Build confidence
  • Work as a team
  • Discover what leadership looks like in everyday life
Day 3 – Stepping Forward

Students reflect on what they’ve learned and leave with a growing sense of:

  • Confidence
  • Belonging
  • Excitement for their leadership journey ahead

Guided by people who care

Our facilitators are passionate about helping young students feel confident, included and capable.

They:

  • Create fun, engaging, and safe experiences
  • Encourage every student to participate and grow
  • Support each child in their unique journey of becoming

For many students, these leaders become role models who shape how they see leadership.
